Migrate from Framer. Keep the design, lose the limits.

I move your pages, CMS collections and SEO settings from Framer to Webflow, or to custom development in Astro with Sanity. I rebuild the animations and redirect the old URLs.

What carries over
Framer → Sanity CMS

Why people leave Framer.
And when it's time.

In Framer, a site goes up fast and looks good. The trouble starts when your content and team grow, or when you want to run the site somewhere else.

  1. CMS limits

Your plan sets how many collections and items you get. With a bigger blog or catalog you hit the cap and pay extra to raise it.

  2. You can't download the code

Framer has no HTML export. The site only runs on Framer's hosting, and anywhere else it has to be rebuilt.

  3. Content lives in the canvas

Text on static pages isn't in the CMS but right in the design. Reusing or translating it means doing it by hand.

  4. Features sold as add-ons

Languages, redirects or more editors come as add-ons and higher plans. Every new need raises the monthly bill.

  5. Lots of JavaScript

Framer pages ship a lot of scripts to the browser. On longer pages with animations, Core Web Vitals suffer.

  6. Everything with one vendor

Hosting, CMS, forms and analytics. When Framer changes its prices or terms, you have nowhere to go.

Where to from Framer?
Depends on who runs the site.

WEBFLOW

You want a visual editor

CHOOSE IT IF…

  • You edit the design visually, with a CMS that can handle more content
  • It's a company site, a product site or a blog
  • Webflow takes care of hosting, backups and updates
Webflow development

SANITY CMS

You want a modular custom site

CHOOSE IT IF…

  • Marketing builds pages from ready blocks without a developer
  • The site connects to your systems and data
  • You want code that belongs to you, without platform limits
Custom development

Not sure? I'll recommend one after an audit.

What carries over.
And what replaces the plugins.

I export the CMS collections from Framer, pull the page content from the published site and move it all into the new structure. Here's where everything goes.

How a Framer migration works.
From export to rank monitoring.

  1. Framer audit

    Framer audit

I go through the whole site, export the CMS collections and list the pages, components, animations and URLs.

  2. URL map and redirects

    URL map and redirects

URLs that change become clean new URLs, each with a 301 redirect. Where a URL stays the same, I leave it alone.

  3. Content conversion and cleanup

    Content conversion and cleanup

I move content from the CSV and the canvas into a clean structure. I rebuild the animations rather than copy Framer's scripts.

  4. Your content review

    Your content review

You go through the site in a dedicated feedback tool. You leave comments right on the page, and I fix them.

  5. Launch

    Launch

I switch the domain, check redirects, forms and analytics, and submit the new sitemap. You keep the Framer project as a backup.

  6. Post-launch monitoring

    Post-launch monitoring

I watch Search Console and traffic. Whatever shows up after launch, I fix.

Send me your site's URL. I'll tell you what it takes.

I'll go through your site, collections and components and suggest whether to move to Webflow or go custom. No commitment, no sales pitch.

What people ask
about leaving Framer.

Can I export the code from Framer?

No. Framer has no HTML export. I download the CMS collections as CSV, pull the static page content from the published site and rebuild the design.

Will the design stay as it is?

It can. I can match the look closely. Where it would hurt speed or accessibility, I'll suggest a change and you decide.

Will the animations and effects stay?

Yes, but I rebuild them. In Webflow with Interactions or GSAP, in Astro right in the code. Along the way I make them lighter so they don't slow the page down.

Will CMS collections and their URLs carry over?

Yes. I move the items into the Webflow CMS or into Sanity, along with references and images. Every URL that changes gets a 301 redirect.

Our content is in Notion, synced to Framer. What happens to it?

I move the content into the Webflow CMS or into Sanity. With custom development, Notion can stay your content source and the site loads it through the API.

Will I still edit the site myself, like in Framer?

Yes. In Webflow you edit pages visually, in Sanity you edit content in an editor with a live preview. Static page text will sit in fields, not loose in the canvas.

Does the Framer site have to go offline during the migration?

No. Framer keeps running until you approve the new site. We switch the domain only at launch.
